Overwhelmed with home repairs? You've come to the right place.

Rebuilding Together Central Alabama (RTCA) is a charitable non-profit volunteer organization that has provided home repairs for neighbors in need in Montgomery, Autauga and Elmore counties since 1993.  Volunteers provide critical repairs and accessibility modifications at no charge – primarily for seniors, people with disabilities, veterans and families with small children.  The work is performed at the convenience and expense of volunteers, most of whom are not tradesmen.

Applications are accepted during the months of October, November, and December.  Homes will be previewed by February.  There is no guarantee that your home will be selected, or if selected, that RTCA will have volunteers or resources to perform the work.  We will make every effort to assist you.  Homeowners submitting applications for work on homes that are not selected are encouraged to apply the following October, November and December.

To qualify, applicants must:

  • live in Montgomery, Autauga or Elmore county

  • provide proper documentation including:
    • ID for each person living in the home

After receipt of your application, proof of income and home ownership, our staff may call you or visit your home to gather more information.  Work by volunteers is provided during the spring and summer.  Our ability to help homeowners is dependent upon the skills of our volunteers and our financial resources.

If your application is selected, it will be presented to available volunteer groups and financial sponsors.  We cannot guarantee that we will be successful or that all needed repairs will be performed.

If you are submitting your application online, you are still responsible for mailing copies of your resident I.D.(s), proofs of income and home ownership to P O Box 6041, Montgomery, AL  36106.  Your application will only be considered after we have received this information.
